She's finally done!!! *collapses from exhaustion* x_x

Took me about a week and a half start to finish to finally complete her.

When I was in Grade 3 I wrote a short story called 'Fairy Magic' for class about an 8th grader who got picked on and insulted for believing Fairies existed. Even her parents hated her and punished her.

One day her dad took everything from her room that could be mistaken for Kary's imagination and told her she was no longer allowed to have an imagination and to focus on school.

Kary cried and ran away into the forest where all of her stories and imagination came from.

There she meets Mione, a unique fairy that got exiled from her land for being different. Mione shows Kary the world that they hide from humans, and that Kary was right, Fairies do exist.


I pulled up this old story from along time ago and realized I came up with such an important theme at such a young age and that's 'just because you are different, doesn't mean you're beneath the world'.

Mione dresses differently, and interacts with humans, which is against the Fairy's life style. Kary believes in Fairies and mythical creatures and she's treated differently by her parents and peers. Too outcasts meet together and become friends.

It was such a cute story and thanks to :iconnyiana-sama:'s contest, it's inspired me to finish this story :D

( i know i spelt her name 'Miona' when i first drew her, but it's because I couldn't remember how to spell her name.)

Mione pronounced (my-own-e) which was a short form for 'my own existence', apparently i was creative and clever as a kid! ha ha!


The old drawing of her was done really badly ^^; so I red did her!

I am SO happy with how she turned out! She looks so unique from her two coloured hair, to her out fit, to her different coloured and not matching socks.


I did a lot of new things in this picture: I coloured her hair completely different then what I've ever done.
I took colour palette's for her clothing and skin to add uniqueness.
I even vector coloured the butterflies!
I never drew fairies before, or fairy wings!


I love this picture so much... I may not win the contest, but I am so happy I did this. She's my favourite, I'm so proud of her!

Thank you *Nyiana-Sama for encouraging me to create an OC I hadn't yet. And I never drew her before :)

I remeber I wrote short stories about "Pokey the Turtle" when I was in 3rd grade for school xD My friends loved them. I even drew little pictures for each page of the book, which was kept together with staples lol. I kept my crazier and fantasy oriented ideas to myself xD I can't even remember how many "Pokey the Turtle" stories I made x3

Pokey the Turtle was about a turtle named Pokey and his other animal friends, living life in the forest/pond. Lol, it was cute xDD The stories were all about what they did for certain holidays/events xD I should improve it and give it to my lil cousin when he gets older : D So they were pretty much children stories made up by a 3rd grader :XD:

children's stories are the best! I mean mione is from a children's story i did too :D

about how being different isn't wrong, and believing in something isn't wrong. (i was actually picked on a lot in elementary school because i liked mythology and video games. and then in high school i made lots of friends with the same interests, go figure XD)

Aww that sounds SO adorable!!! I LOVE turtles! You should upload a sketch of him, i'd love to see it!
